In recent years, there has been a growing interest of CBR researchers in dealing with textual representations of cases. This workshop aimed at bringing together the groups active in this area in order to identify major problems to be solved, alternative approaches to this task, and specific properties which distinguish textual CBR from other areas, such as information retrieval.

The overall theme of the workshop was handling of textual documents within CBR systems. Suggested topics for the workshop included representation, system development and maintenance, evaluation of textual CBR systems, integration issues, and case studies.
