This symposium report contains papers from a community of researchers working on different aspects of bridging the gaps in human-agent collaboration. The agents and AI communities have tackled this problem from the agents’ point of view, while the human factors and intelligent user interfaces communities have begun to address this problem from the human’s point of view. By bringing together researchers from these and other communities, we can foster collaborations to share accomplishments, identify common issues and challenges, compare architectures and propose directions to move forward. High-level thrusts include understanding objectives, adapting to context and collaborative computation.
